The Winter Ball - 6 December 2008

Posh frocks, dancing shoes and black tie at the ready for CYC's Winter Ball ! This glittering occasion will start with a champagne reception at the Clubhouse from 7.30 where some of Deganwy Castle Hotel's staff will be on hand to give you the opportunity to select and place your orders for wine, before we make our way over to the Castle for dinner at 8.00pm. Dancing will be to the magnificent music of our very own fabulous, fantastic "Danbuoys"!

If you haven't reserved your places yet, please do so by contacting the Club during opening hours on 01492 583690 or Viv Edwards on 01492 581208. The cost is £30 per head and final numbers have to be given by 29 November. In order to confirm your booking we would be most grateful to have your payment by that date also. As you will appreciate, places booked but not taken still have to be paid for!

Meanwhile........
Prize Giving and Hotpot Night will be held at the Club on 22 November when we will also be awarding a prize for the best photograph of the year. The evening starts at 7.30 - cost £10 per head. If you have taken any great photos this year that you would like to submit then please hand them in at the bar as soon as you can but late entries on the night will still be considered. The prize winner will be selected by the President.

As from 16TH Nov. untill next Easter the Club will be closed on Sundays

The Christmas closing is Wed. 24th, Xmas Day, Boxing Day, Sat 27th Sun 28th, and New Years Day.

A.G.M.

The Annual General Meeting of C.Y.C. will take place 2pm on Sat. 13th Dec 2008 at the Club premises.

Following the success of the Friday Night Hot Pot there will be other occasional Fri night Bar meals. Fri 12th Dec Look out for Beef burgers with onions,.. A Curry and Chili night on January 9th.

Carol Singing - Change of Date

The date of the carol singing has been changed from 19 December, to Thursday, 18th December, 8:00 pm when mulled wine and mince pies will be served. Please come and join in.

New Year's Eve Party

Our New Year's Eve Party is to start at 7:30 at the Clubhouse where you will be able to enjoy a fabulous five course meal prepared by the ladies of the House Committee. A glass of champagne to toast in the New Year will also be provided. All these goodies for £22.50 per person. Once again, make your bookings at the Club or with Viv Edwards

Snooker

It won,t be long now before we have a Club Champion, with his name on the coverted shield. The semi final sees John Warren ( defending his title) playing Marcus Elliott and Nigel Wischhuson playing John Murghtroyd.  The date of final is to be announced

Snooker Draw ( pre Xmas, date TBA.)

For all you boys like me who have paid in many a 50 p.for losing a game of snooker, and an odd few times it may be in the winners book, IT,S PAY BACK TIME booze of every kind will line the covered snooker table, names will be drawn, and chance will play its part,carrier bags not supplied!

Message for our Golfing Members

With Christmas Day and New Year’s Day falling on Thursdays, we thought it best to avoid staging this annual event on its usual Friday between Christmas and New Year, so we have opted instead for Monday 29^th December at North Wales Golf Club.

The first tee off time will be at 11.25 a.m. and there is space for sixteen golfers.

Kate Hardman and Viv Edwards have again kindly agreed to cater for us in the Yacht Club that evening (commencing at 7.30 p.m.) – so a jolly time should be had by all.

I will be contacting you again in mid December to solicit your response. This notification, as it were, is for your diary.
